Apple Stamps Tips
Is Making Apple Stamps a Kid-Friendly Activity?
Absolutely! My oldest absolutely adores this craft because he is super creative and loves anything to do with arts and crafts. The only thing that the supervising adult has to do is cut each apple in half. For more details, be sure to scroll down to my craft card so you have all the information you need.
Can I Use Other Fruit Besides Apples?
Apples are great to use for this activity because of its flat surface when cut in half. However, you can also use pears for a fun, different shape. Lots of people also use potatoes when making DIY stamps.
What Designs Can I Create With Apple Stamps?
We decided to go for pumpkins when using our apple stamps. When we whipped up this quick project, we were totally in a fall-theme kind-of-mood and the shape the apple offered made for the PERFECT Jack-o-Lantern.
With apple stamps, you can also make the following designs:
- Smiley faces
- Apples (of course!)
- Friendly little monsters (perfect for Halloween)
- Sports designs like basketballs, baseballs, soccer balls, etc.
- Lady bugs
…and so much more!
What Kind of Surfaces Can I Stamp with Apple Stamps?
When we use apple stamps, we tend to use cardstock since it’s heavier and won’t go through as much as it would regular printer paper.
Feel free to stamp surfaces that are safe for children to use and that are flat and easy to work with. Keep in-mind that you are using acrylic paint, so be sure that the material you are stamping can hold acrylic paint well.
