What Shape Should I Make My Hand?
The best way to describe it is by making your hand into the “Okay” shape – you know, the hand gesture you make when you give something your seal of approval? That’s the kind of shape that you’ll make in order to achieve this heart-hand look.

Be Sure To Not Cut Through the Folded Part
The folded portion of the paper is what gives this card its shape. If you cut right down the middle, it’ll just be two pieces of paper. Be sure when you’re cutting your hand shape, that you’re keeping the folded part of the paper, so when you’re placing your hand, make sure it’s on the edge.

Get Creative!
This is the part where we encourage you to get as crafty as possible! This card can be personalized in so many different ways. Be sure to use cardstock, so that you have a good, sturdy base to work with. Some art supplies that you can use to decorate your card include:

Little Hands Will Make Little Cards
Logically speaking, the smaller the hand, the smaller the card! Just keep this in-mind when making this gift DIY! You’ll also have to guide your little ones in making the hand shape required to achieve the heart-hands look. It takes a little bit of explaining, but that’s the whole fun in it!
It’s Okay to Make Mistakes!
That’s the best part about crafting with little ones – not everything will be perfect, but that makes for the most fun memories! So even if the hand position is not perfect, if the pencil outline shows, if marker smudges… it’s okay! That’s the whole fun in DIYing!
