Some of you may know me from my food blog, Sugar Agenda, where I make good food a daily ritual. But what you might not know is that I also just launched a fashion line called Legacy Del, where a big part of our collection focuses on hair accessories (namely, headbands).
My nieces have taken an interest in my brand, and wanted to try their hand at handmaking some hair accessories of their own. Although I don’t sell these Pompom Hair Clips, I thought they’d make a great starter project to introduce them to the world of DIY!
That being said, these Pompom Hair Clips are super fun to make with your little ones! Keeping on reading below to get the full instructions. They are SO easy to put together!

Tips to Make the Cutest DIY Pompom Hair Clips
Be sure to grab the right type of hair clips!
There are TONS of hair clips out there. For this particular project, you will want snap hair clips to get the full effect.
Be wary of where you apply glue
When you are applying the fabric glue to the hair clip, be sure to only add it on areas where you won’t get in the way of the functionality of the clip – ie.: you don’t want to glue the clip shut, or else you won’t be able to use it! So be sure you are only gluing at the thickest end of the hair clip.
What kind of glue should I use?
I highly recommend using fabric glue gun sticks that pair with standard hot glue guns. This kind of glue is extremely sturdy for soft fabrics (like the pompoms in this particular project!) but also don’t make a big mess.
However, if you only have standard hot glue gun sticks, then those will work fine as well.
