I set up fun crafts for her as often as I can. She really loves cutting and gluing. So I incorporate those as much as possible.
We did this cotton ball ghost craft in the fall and so I knew she would love to do a cotton ball bunny craft!

Tips for Cotton Ball Bunny Craft
Protect The Work Surface
Kids are messy. Glue is messy. I find if I anticipate these things and protect the area they’re doing the craft, then I don’t stress as much about the mess.
I personally like craft trays. I got them from Lakeshore Learning. But there are similar ones on Amazon, and sometimes even in the Target dollar spot.
The ones I have are bigger than a piece of paper so craft supplies can sit on the tray too. In this case the glue never leaves the tray. But when we paint, paint and water cups can fit nicely on the tray too.
We also use them for slime and play doh and kinetic sand and really anything that’s even slightly messy. I guess what I’m saying is, you will find plenty of uses for the trays besides this one craft. The trays are really easy to wash too.
If you don’t have trays, butcher paper works for protecting surfaces too. It’s inexpensive and thick enough that if glue or paint gets on the surface it won’t seep through.
Butcher paper is not ideal for messy water crafts though. As the water will seep through, but it’s a great option for this one.
Add On To The Bunny
The bunnies are super cute without faces. So it is fine to stop after gluing on all the cotton balls.
But to take this craft up a notch, decorate the face. We used felt hearts I had left over from another craft for the ears and nose. But craft paper could be cut to size and work well.
Then we used pipe cleaners to make a little mouth. Add googly eyes and the bunny is done!
I have a big bag of googly eyes, so I always just let the kids pick whichever ones they fancy. I love seeing if they pick big or little or if they are even the same size!
Pour Out Some Glue
Your kids are going to love this part! This is not one of those projects where you have to be stingy with the glue.
More glue is totally fine. Having thick paper helps too, but the cotton balls soak up a lot.
I found putting a bunch of glue on and then squishing the cotton balls around work best. But definitely let your kids do whatever they want.
One kid packed the cotton balls in, the other left some room between. I think they both turned out great.

Love the craft. I use cookie sheets from the dollar store. They are great craft trays and can get washed in the dishwasher.
