How To Make A Froot Loop Necklace
Create some fun learning opportunities while making a pretty (and delicious!) necklace with your little one by making a Froot Loop Necklace.

What You Need:
Here’s what you’ll need from the store. The exact amounts are in the printable craft card at the bottom of this post.

Do I Need to Add a Clasp To This Necklace
Whenever I make these necklaces, I know it’s not with the intention to keep them forever, rather, to practice colors, counting, and fine motor skills.
So in short, no. A clasp is not necessary to make this necklace. You will simply tie a knot to secure the necklace.
Make the String Long Enough
Because you won’t be adding a clasp, be sure that the string is long enough that you can just take the necklace on and off without having to untie and re-tie the knot.
Practice Colors While Making the Necklace
One of the ways we make this DIY a learning/teaching opportunity is by practicing colors. Our Froot Loop Necklace is a fantastic way to review colors / learn all about them. As you string each Froot Loop, review the color of each cereal you’re putting through.
Another way to practice colors is by grouping each color together.

Fine Motor Activity
This Froot Loop Necklace activity is also great for developing fine motor skills – from gripping each cereal to putting them through the string (which can be ultra challenging!).
Got Leftover Froot Loops?
Don’t worry about it! There are tons of things you can do with them (besides eating spoonfuls of them!), just like our Weather Sensory Bin!
Feel Free to Make Bracelets, Too!
If you’re looking to add more jewelry to the mix, you can also make fun bracelets or anklets!
They Won’t Last Forever
Just remember, as pretty as they are, these “pieces of jewelry” are made of cereal at the end of the day. They won’t last forever and are pretty fragile, considering!
Let Your Creativities Flow
There’s no wrong or right way to make a Froot Loop Necklace! When I made my most recent one, I only added a few Froot Loops to give it a more “elegant” look (we were also having too much fun going over numbers, colors, etc.)
Feel free to string Froot Loops to your entire necklace. You can also create color patterns (which is another great way to review colors).
