Printable Tips For Back To School Coloring Sheets
If you didn’t already know, coloring pages are usually JPG or PDF files that you can download to your computer and print at home. They are often black and white line drawings that make the perfect template for coloring with your favorite art supplies.
The beauty of digital files is that you can store a variety of page designs on your computer. Then simply print whichever design is needed at the moment. With everyday supplies like crayons and colored pencils, printable coloring pages are a quick and easy way to keep the kids busy. I’m sure you’ll find many uses for these back to school coloring sheets, but here are a few ideas and tips.
Print Draft Quality
For these coloring sheets and any coloring pages you may have on hand, remember that you can always print them out at draft quality. This setting on your printer basically uses less ink and prints out the image lighter and at very fast speeds, especially if you are printing out a stack for a group of kids.
The idea is that since we are going to color in the designs, there’s no need for a super black outline anyway. Draft quality prints will work just fine in my experience and you get to save money on ink! Every little bit goes a long way.
Use as Craft Templates
Besides using these back to school coloring sheets as traditional coloring pages, you can also print them out at different sizes to use as craft templates. This applies to any kind of coloring page design you might have. Given the outline of shapes, figures and characters in coloring pages, you can use it as a template for other crafty projects and not limit yourself to just coloring with pens and pencils.
Consider using glue and glitter to make beautifully glittered designs. Or do some mosaic making using multi-colored square bits of paper and gluing them inside the coloring page designs. I’m sure you can imagine that coloring page designs can actually be used in just about any other papercrafting project idea. Make cards with them, decorate with them and make art prints to frame… the list really goes on and depends on your imagination and the supplies you might already have at home. So get creative with your kids and have some fun experimenting!
