Printable Flower Coloring Pages Tips & Tricks
When it comes to printing coloring pages, it’s as simple as downloading and clicking print. Coloring pages are definitely the easiest activity to whip out and set up for your kids, at the drop of a hat. However, there are a few tips and tricks to discuss to make the most of your coloring page designs.
Printing Paper and Quality
For my younger kids who go through coloring pages extremely quickly, I usually choose to print on regular printing paper at normal quality. My kids aren’t concerned with the paper quality or how dark the lines might be, because they are using a combination of crayons, markers and coloring pencils. It’s a huge mix and ultimately it’s for the process, rather than the end result.
However, if you have older kids or adults using these coloring pages, consider printing on better quality paper or cardstock. The idea is that the finished coloring page might actually become a beautiful art piece that you want to keep and frame. In these cases, you definitely want to consider what coloring tools you are using and what type of paper will give you the best end result.
Incorporate Counting with these Printable Flower Coloring Pages
Personally, I often incorporate a bit of math into whatever activity they might be participating in, especially when they are still learning their basic math skills. For younger kids, consider asking them to also count the flower petals, number of flowers or number of leaves on the coloring page.
And for older kids who are into using multiplication, you can ask them to write the expression for figuring out how many total petals there are in the full patterned coloring page. It might seem simple and easy enough for us, but for little kids who are still learning, it’s a great way to incorporate math problems into real life situations.
Create Gifts with these Printable Flower Coloring Pages
Finally, going back to the point about using cardstock or quality paper for these coloring page printables – you might consider creating framed coloring pages to make into gifts for a variety of holidays and seasons. You can easily print 4 of the flower images on a page to make smaller framed art pieces as well. It would make a great addition to gift baskets for Easter or birthday celebrations when you want to send real flowers, as well as a framed flower that would last forever.
There really is no limit to your creativity when it comes to using printables and coloring pages. There are so many beautiful coloring pages available for download, so take advantage! A simple coloring activity with your kids can become a very productive crafternoon of creating presents for family and friends.
