Hello! My name is Linda from tortagialla.com and I’m a mama who loves designing digital printables. I’ve created this educational printable for kids who are still practicing their handwriting and learning numbers. These worksheets can help preschoolers and kindergarteners learn through counting out loud and writing repetition.
Additionally, for older kids who have mastered numbers already, you can still use these worksheets for games, practice, and a few challenge ideas between siblings.
For older kids, don’t miss our multiplication chart printable worksheets too!

Printable Number Tracing Worksheet PDF Tips
Printing Tips
When it comes to printing lengthy documents at home, it’s helpful to remember a few tips before hitting the print button. Taking a few moments to consider your options will help with saving ink and paper, avoiding common mistakes when printing at home.
As always, remember to check the print preview and review all the settings before printing. Every printer brand will have its own unique settings menu, but you will always be able to check the paper size and print quality to ensure you get the best print possible.
For worksheets with so many pages, you can also print at draft quality. It uses less ink and it’s not as pristine or dark, but that’s actually perfect for tracing worksheets. So keep this in mind whenever you print these types of printables for your kids.
Using this Printable Numbers PDF
I’ve designed this free printable in a straightforward manner with one number per page from 0 to 20. There is the number in large print at the top for tracing, then lines of the same number for repetitive tracing underneath.
You can instruct your kids to simply trace each number as you see fit. However, you can add a few variations to spice up practice time. The white space left on the right side of the page is actually intended for those who want to practice drawing and counting out loud according to the number on the page.
For example, if you are on number 5, you can help your child count to 5 out loud while drawing 5 stars or 5 hearts in the white area. It’s a nice way to incorporate another visual element into the worksheet and they can even pause to color up their drawings.
Another way to create variety in what might seem a mundane repetitive practice worksheet is to allow your child to use a different colored pencil or marker for each row of tracing. They can create colored-themed worksheets or a rainbow array. With a set of colorful markers or pencils, why not use them for practice, right?
Offer a Reward for Challenges
Finally, I always like to turn activities into games because that always helps my kids participate more willingly. For practice worksheets, you can offer rewards for certain time limits or rewards for how precise their tracing is for each page. The prizes you offer don’t have to be fancy or substantial. In fact, they say we are happier to receive more little prizes than a big one at times!
So consider helping your child’s progress by offering them challenges and rewards along the way, after each page is completed for example. And of course, these printable numbers to trace can be reprinted and used over and over again as digital printables.
