Halloween Brownie Decorating Tips
These cute brownies look like bubbling cauldrons with a broomstick poking out of the top! And they are so easy to make that your kids can help.
Step 1: Make the homemade buttercream
Begin by making the homemade buttercream. Add ¼ cup softened butter and 1 cup icing sugar into a large bowl. Add 1 tbsp milk and use an electric hand blender to mix all the ingredients together. Mix on medium-high speed for 3 minutes until smooth.
Step 2: Color the Buttercream
Add ¼ tsp of green gel food coloring to the buttercream and mix until completely tinted. Scoop the green buttercream into a piping bag with Wilton tip #5 attached.
Step 3: Frost the Brownies
Place the brownies so that the smaller end becomes the bottom. Add green buttercream to the top, with no particular pattern and top off with small dollops of buttercream.
Step 4: Insert the Pretzel Sticks
Snap pretzel sticks in half and add one half into the frosted brownie. This will act like the cauldron’s spoon.

Your spooky party-goers will adore them!
How to Store Witch Cauldron Brownies
To store any leftover witch cauldron brownies, place them in an airtight container and leave out in room temperature for up to 3 to 5 days.
Do I Need A Piping Bag?
No, you don’t need to use a piping bag. You can put the frosting in a Ziploc bag and snip the bottom corner. Then, just pipe the frosting onto the brownie bites. The fun thing about them is that they aren’t supposed to be perfect!
Save Time – Use Tub Frosting
If you don’t have time to make homemade buttercream frosting, just use green gel food coloring and a tub of white frosting. It will still look and taste the same.
