Hello! My name is Linda from tortagialla.com and I’m a creative mama who loves designing digital printables. I made this cursive handwriting printable for kids who need to practice their handwriting and writing in general. I know my kids definitely could use more practice and these worksheets are versatile enough for all kinds of practice activities for a variety of ages and levels of writing.
For older kids who already know their cursive letters, you can still use this workbook for creative writing and practicing different words and phrases. I’m a huge advocate of creative writing and using our analogue skills of writing by hand. Although we live in a very digital age, it’s still important to be able to handwrite. Nothing can replace the physical practice needed for our hands to develop muscles for writing.

Printable Tips For This Cursive Alphabet Printable
Print and Bind
There are few tips to remember before printing this PDF that contains so many pages. Whenever you use digital printables, remember to check your printer settings before hitting that print button. Double checking will help reduce misprints and wasted paper.
Whenever I print a workbook or something that my kids will trace or color over, I tend to print at draft quality. Depending on your specific printer, the options and settings might be different. However, the idea is that you can print with less ink, as long as the result is still legible. You don’t need super dark lines, since your kids will be tracing over it anyway. This really helps to save ink in the long run. Also, considering printing double-sided to save paper, if that is an option your printer offers.
Finally, think about how you might bind these pages together to make it easier for your kids to write in. You can certainly just staple the stack together to keep in alphabetical order or you can hole punch the pages to keep in a binder. However, note that your kids will probably want to take the pages out of a binder when writing so that it’s more comfortable.
Multiple Educational Uses
Originally, I designed this cursive alphabet printable for handwriting each letter for practice. My daughter was just learning cursive handwriting and really needed to practice her letters more to gain confidence. So I printed out this workbook for her to practice uppercase and lowercase cursive letters, one by one, using the blank lines to write, repeating over and over again. Straight repetition for practice!
However, once she became comfortable writing in cursive, I still wanted her to practice but moving one step beyond. Using the same worksheets printed out again, now she could practice words starting with the particular cursive letter. Moving ahead in the future, you might even assign a word for each letter and ask your child to write a sentence using that particular word or even a short story.
You can see that these worksheets are very versatile and can be adapted to a variety of educational activities centered around practicing cursive handwriting. Remember that the beauty of digital printables is that you can print out as many copies as you need, keeping this handy PDF in your archives!
Incorporate Drawing and Fun Additions
Notice that the worksheets have a boxed space where your kids can actually draw and color up a matching image to the alphabet letter. Since my daughter is more inclined to drawing than writing, I wanted to include this option to help her get excited to complete worksheet.
If you are using these worksheets for words, phrases or sentences, you might suggest drawing a scene that matches what they write. Another fun variation is to put little objects or candy in that spot to help motivate your child to practice their handwriting.
Although it might be a challenge for you to find objects, toys and candies for each alphabet letter, it might actually be a fun additional activity to do with your child as well! First, search through the house to find an object to put in the box to help represent the letter. Then move on to practice writing the letters.
As you can see, there are lots of possibilities and all of it comes down to having fun while learning and practicing handwriting.
